Bitter (Adjective): “Feeling or showing anger, hurt, or resentment because of bad experiences or a sense of unjust treatment”.
Bitterness is not accepting the things that make us sad when we fail.
Rather than admitting that we are devastated by our recent failure we deny it.
Instead of admitting that we are sad that we lost money in business we rage that capitalism is bad and being rich is a sin.
To save face, we criticise our company or a colleague instead of letting others know that we are sad because we didn’t get a promotion we thought we deserved.
The bitter can’t admit their failure and instead blame something or someone else. It’s easier this way and we can all be guilty of doing this.
If we don’t blame ourselves then we have no reason to change. We must face up to the cold hard truth.
Let go of any bitterness, no good will ever come of it. It’s not a weakness to admit that you weren’t ready, that you weren’t as good as you thought you were or you found something hard.
Instead be grateful that you didn’t reach your goal as it gives you more time to perfect your craft and to get better for when the next opportunity comes around.
Let go of that which doesn’t serve you.
You are better than that.
