Never Give Up and You Will Never Fail

If you try something once and don’t achieve it, are you a failure? No. We only fail because we stop trying.

We have to try and try, over and over again until eventually one day we reach our goal – no matter how long it takes. If you look at all the greats throughout history, they all came up against struggles and set backs again and again, but they kept going no matter how many times life challenged them.

Amateurs give up after 1 or 2 failed attempts. The greats never give up and achieve success after 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000 attempts. The only measure of your success is how many times you are willing to try.

Sir James Dyson, the British inventor who created the Dyson vacuum cleaner, spent 5 years creating his first vacuum cleaner, partly supported by his wife’s salary. He created 5,127 prototypes of his vacuum cleaner before he finally got it right. He never gave up on his invention and now he’s now one of the richest people in Britain and one of the greatest inventors of modern times.

J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter, had a tough time when trying to fulfil her dream and write her story. Seven years after graduating from university she felt like a failure; she was a jobless single mother with a young dependant child, her mother had died, her marriage had failed, she was diagnosed with clinical depression, and she was living on benefits.

But through all this pain, she never gave up on her dream. She channelled her pain from the loss of her mother and put it into her first book. She channelled her depression which inspired her to create characters in her books. Fast forward to modern day and Harry Potter is the best selling book series in history.

When Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to become a leading actor he was told that he was too muscular, his name was too long and his accent was too strong and hard to understand. He was turned down for roles but he never gave up. He went on to become one of the biggest actors in Hollywood who is now known for: having a muscular body, a strong accent and a unique name in Hollywood – all the traits he was initially rejected for.

Don’t Be Afraid Of Failure

If you have a dream or you want to achieve something, chances are you’re going to have struggles and it won’t come to you immediately.

If you fall down, then pick yourself back up – no matter the struggle. Every time you get back up you develop character, heart and perseverance. You train your mind and your body to push through again and again and again – keep pushing!

If you never quit you never fail; you only fail when you give up trying.
